These six quarterbacks all started at least one game for the Minnesota Vikings but only lasted one season in purple and gold.
The Minnesota Vikings have a rich history that has seen many great quarterbacks come and go over the years. Some of those passers left a great impression on the franchise while others fizzled out while wearing purple and gold.
For some of those quarterbacks, their time with the franchise was quite brief. Staying in Minnesota for only a few seasons is still enough to be memorable but others only got one season to make their mark on Vikings history.
The first quarterback to ever last only one season with the Vikings was George Shaw, who was the backup for Fran Tarkenton during Minnesota’s inaugural season in 1961. He started four games and threw for 530 yards to go with four touchdowns and four interceptions while only leading his team to one win.
Several other quarterbacks have only spent one season with the Minnesota Vikings while starting at least one game. Here are six of those passers who spent a season (or less) as part of the team’s roster.
