Matt Prater

2020 Team: Detroit Lions

Prater has one of the strongest legs in the NFL. With the Vikings sticking to their run on 2nd-and-10 philosophy, having a guy that has an NFL-record 64-yard field goal isn’t a bad strategy. But while Prater can kick the ball a mile, there are times where he might not know where it’s going.

Prater’s 2020 was just as rough as Bailey’s as he made just 75 percent of his kicks. Prater was awful from outside 40 yards, hitting just 58.8 percent of his attempts.

But there’s something to be said about Prater’s track record. As a career 83.2 percent kicker, the Vikings could have Prater come into camp and challenge Greg Joseph for the starting spot.

That would provide some valid competition and give Minnesota another option if Joseph struggles.
