Ignoring the pass-rush

Even though Danielle Hunter is hopefully coming back after missing the 2020 season due to injury, the Vikings still need some additional assistance when it comes to generating pressure on opposing quarterbacks in 2021.

This was one of the catalysts behind their demise last time out and considering this year’s draft class isn’t blessed with the greatest depth in this area, it might be a better idea to scour the free-agent market for some veteran help.

Of course, Hunter seems to be going along the same route as Stefon Diggs with some recent cryptic activity on Twitter. The defensive end is reportedly looking for a new deal before next season. But considering the seriousness of his neck problem and the current financial predicament in Minnesota, it’s something he’ll probably have to wait for unless the LSU product starts forcing the issue.

Getting Michael Pierce back on the interior will be another big help for the Vikings in 2021. Minnesota also brought Stephen Weatherly back recently, but just how much he’ll be able to assist is another matter entirely.
