2020 Teams: Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints

Carlos Dunlap isn’t the only defensive end in this year’s free-agent pool that has worked with Mike Zimmer in the past as Margus Hunt was a rookie with the Bengals during Zimmer’s final season with the team in 2013.

If the Vikings were going to sign Hunt, it would be done mainly as an effort to improve the depth of their pass rush heading into next season. He’s got plenty of experience since he’s appeared in 104 games during his time in the league, but he was only in the starting lineup for 26 of those matchups (25 percent).

At 6-foot-8 and 295 pounds, Hunt has always been a unique piece for a team to utilize in their defense. At the very least, he would be great for Minnesota to have on their field-goal blocking unit.

But at 33-years-old, Hunt’s time in the NFL is running out, and his days of being a starter are likely over. If he’s okay with having a reserve role in 2021, then the Vikings should consider giving him a look.
