2020 Team: New Orleans Saints

Trey Hendrickson is probably going to make a lot of money this offseason. The question is whether or not he’s worth the lucrative contract he will likely sign at some point during the next few weeks.

Hendrickson is coming off the best season of his career since he entered the NFL in 2017. In 15 games with the Saints, he finished the 2020 campaign with 25 tackles (12 for a loss), 33 pressures, 25 quarterback hits, and 13.5 sacks. During his previous three years with New Orleans, he had a combined total of 6.5 sacks.

So is his performance from last season a sign of things to come for Hendrickson or is he just the latest example of a guy playing out of his mind during a contract year?

If the Vikings are interested in finding out, he could be a good fit as the team’s other starting defensive end on the opposite side of Danielle Hunter. At 26-years-old, Hendrickson still has a lot of upside, and his performance in 2020 might be something that Minnesota’s coaches think they can get out of him for the next few seasons.
