Fifth Round (Pick No. 158)

Marlon Williams – WR (UCF)

As it was mentioned with the selection of Sage Surratt, Minnesota’s wide receiver depth is pretty poor behind Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson. With Marlon Williams and Surratt, the Vikings will add two pass catchers to their roster that both use their size to their advantage (Williams is 6-feet, 215 pounds).

In addition to being a weapon in the passing game, Williams’ size should help him when he’s tasked with doing some run blocking down the field to help Dalvin Cook reach the end zone.

Fifth Round (Pick No. 172)

Sadarius Hutcherson – OL (South Carolina)

People probably aren’t going to be happy with the Vikings waiting until the fifth round to draft an offensive lineman this year, but they also don’t want to reach for a new blocking prospect if they can get him later on.

This is the case with Sadarius Hutcherson who could eventually develop into one of Minnesota’s starting guards. Hutcherson was a four-year starter at South Carolina and he spent his college career lining up as both a guard and a tackle.
