The Minnesota Vikings will need to look for some running back depth this offseason after losing Mike Boone in free agency.

Dalvin Cook is one heck of a football player. The Minnesota Vikings are likely to use the star running back as much as possible during the 2021 season in order for the team to maximize their production in their offense.

Behind Cook, Alexander Mattison will be the next man up to handle the rushing duties for Minnesota. The Vikings‘ third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft is a bruising running back that has proven himself to be a capable player.

Last year, the third and fourth running backs on Minnesota’s depth chart were Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah. But both hit free agency this year and Boone has already been swooped up by the Denver Broncos as he hopes to get a bigger offensive role next season.
