Demetric Felton (Draft Prospect)

If athleticism is what the Vikings are looking for in a third running back this year, UCLA prospect Demetric Felton could be a player the team targets with one of their mid-to-late round picks in the 2021 NFL draft.

Felton is a hybrid wide receiver and running back that stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 200 pounds. His positional flexibility is justified because he finished his four seasons at college with 233 rushing attempts and 99 catches for a grand total of 2,059 yards and 15 touchdowns during his 41 games played.

When you factor in that Felton also plays on special teams and is a solid kick returner, his appeal grows even more. Last season, Minnesota had Ameer Abdullah handling kickoffs. But with Abdullah’s future up in the air, having someone to compete for that job can only be good for the team.

One thing the Vikings never frown on is gathering athletic talent at any position to develop in order to find a role for them on the field. Having someone like Felton on the roster could allow Minnesota to do some creative scheming against tough defenses in order to keep them on their toes.
