Fourth Round (Pick No. 119)

Jaylen Twyman – IDL (Pitt)

You’ve probably seen Jaylen Twyman’s name in a lot of Vikings mock drafts dating back to the start of last season. Twyman is an interior rusher with the speed and a motor that Minnesota does not have at the moment. Even with the addition of Dalvin Tomlinson, they still need someone who specializes in rushing the passer from the gut.

Twyman showed out at his pre-draft workouts, but he is still projected to go in the middle of the draft due to a lack of size in the middle. While he may not be an immediate starter for the Vikings, Twyman would be an impact player in passing situations, giving the big boys up front a breather.

He can rotate in and out, giving the defense some fresh legs as he gets after the quarterback, and limits space for the opposing passer to step up while they attempt to avoid Danielle Hunter coming off the edge.

Twyman had 10.5 sacks as a sophomore in 2019 before opting out of the 2020 season. If he is still on the board at 119th overall, there should be no hesitation to add an immediate factor to the defensive line.
