2020 Stats:

  • 36 catches
  • 472 yards (13.1 average)
  • 2 touchdowns

This is the guy a lot of Vikings fans are going to want the team to go after in the 2021 draft. This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone though, since Rashod Bateman played his college ball down the road from U.S. Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota.

But this isn’t just Vikings fans pulling for the team to go after the local college star. Bateman legitimately has a chance to be the best receiver to come out of this year’s draft.

He was only able to appear in five games last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but his entire college resume is a big reason why he’s expected to be one of the first receivers to come off the board this year.

Bateman was impressive as a true freshman in 2018 and then he was even better as a sophomore in 2019 when he hauled in 60 passes for 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He’s got a lot of great traits that NFL teams currently look for in a wide receiver including size, speed, and elusiveness. Bateman can jump in and immediately make an impact for the team that ends up drafting him.

Will it be the Vikings?
