If the Vikings are looking for a solid receiving prospect in the middle of this year’s draft, Sage Surratt could be their guy.

Even as a mid-round pick, Surratt is someone who could still come in and take over as Minnesota’s third receiver for next season. The Vikings typically don’t ask for a ton from their No. 3 receivers, so he would still have time to sit back and learn before he possibly is given a bigger role in the future.

After opting out of the entire 2020 college season due to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Surratt has had a whole year to rest his body and fine-tune some of the aspects of his game that need improving.

His lack of speed (4.6 range in the 40) is something that might be concerning for teams that are considering him as one of their draft picks this year. However, he proved during his time in college that he can still make plays with the ball in his hands despite not being a burner.
