Trevon Grimes (Florida)

Measurements:

  • Height: 6-foot-4 | Weight: 217 pounds

2020 Stats:

  • 38 catches
  • 589 yards (15.5 average)
  • 9 touchdowns

If the Vikings are looking for a late-round receiving prospect that has the chance to develop into something special in the near future, Trevon Grimes is someone to consider.

Grimes has impressive size and decent speed (4.51 time in the 40). Thanks to his height, he has the potential to emerge as a dangerous weapon for an offense when they’re in the red zone.

Minnesota just lost a red zone threat in Kyle Rudolph this offseason, so Grimes could be someone that helps make up for that departure.

Aside from his potential to develop into a solid receiver, Grimes has good blocking skills that would be utilized in an offense like the Vikings’ that puts a bunch of emphasis on the rushing attack.

Grimes not having any punt or kick return experience in college is something that might cause Minnesota to not have any interest in him. But if he’s still available during the final few rounds of the draft, that might be where the Vikings are more willing to take a chance on him.
