Vikings Draft 2021: Four-round mock draft – April version
By Adam Carlson
Third Round (Pick No. 90) – Dayo Odeyingbo, DE – Vanderbilt
Now that the offensive line has a little more talent and a future potential All-Pro has been selected at linebacker, it’s time to work on providing the Minnesota Vikings with more of a pass rush for the upcoming season.
The return of Danielle Hunter should provide a massive boost to the defense. Opposite him, the most likely options to start at the moment are D.J. Wonnum, Jalyn Holmes, or the recently re-acquired Stephen Weatherly.
Adding another name to the mix wouldn’t be a terrible idea. Dayo Odeyingbo is a bit of a raw pass rusher who had limited success at the college level and tore his Achilles tendon in January. Still, there is plenty to love about an athletic prospect like Odeyingbo.
Minnesota could bring Odeyingbo along slowly while he recovers from his injury and adjusts to the NFL level. If his 12 tackles for a loss and 23 hurries in 2019 are any indication of what he is capable of, rolling the dice on a player coming off a big injury could be one heck of an investment. If not, the floor is high with the return of Weatherly and the potential of Wonnum and Holmes.
