Bisi Johnson – Currently on the Roster

Last year, the Minnesota Vikings started off their season with Olabisi Johnson as their starter opposite Adam Thielen. Johnson struggled in that role and was relieved of those duties after only three weeks in favor of rookie phenom Justin Jefferson, who set NFL records for his performance in his first year.

Bisi may have been a placeholder in 2020, but now he is in a position where he needs to prove his worth in order to earn time on the field this season. His 14 catches for 189 yards and zero touchdowns had to be disappointing for both him and the Vikings, who saw some potential in him after grabbing three scores in 2019.

It has to be believed that Minnesota wouldn’t be comfortable with Johnson in the WR3 spot heading into the 2021 season. However, the team has a lot of needs and depth issues that still need to be addressed that they could have an open competition for the spot.

While it would be a little shocking to see Bisi win the competition to be the No. 3 option at wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, his current tenure with the team and flashes in 2019 have to account for something.
