6 candidates to be the Vikings No. 3 wide receiver in 2021

Chad Beebe – Currently on the Roster
The opinions on Chad Beebe vary wildly depending on which fans you ask. Some love the potential they see from the second-generation wide receiver and they have some ammunition to back up their praise, especially with a game-winning touchdown and improvement across the board through each of his three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
On the other hand, Beebe’s flashes may not come often enough to make him a serious contender to be a WR3 at the NFL level. Last year he only hauled in 20 of his 30 targets for 201 yards and two scores, yet was third in receiving yardage among WRs.
Beebe’s value as a player is boosted by his work on special teams, but even that has been spotty at best. He has struggled to haul in punts consistently and the Vikings should be hunting for a new face to handle those duties after Chad and K.J. Osborn both proved they weren’t the answer.
The only way Beebe becomes the Vikings WR3 is if Minnesota fails to draft a high-potential player or get a budget free agent and the team posts an open competition where he beats out Bisi Johnson. It’s a long shot, but it’s possible.
