Dede Westbrook – Free Agent
Rolling the dice on a player coming off an injury can pay off in a big way. If the price tag is right, a great contributor can be added to a roster without investing too much for their services. This would be the case if the Minnesota Vikings sign Dede Westbrook.
The former Jaguars wide receiver has struggled with inconsistency at quarterback since arriving in Jacksonville for the 2017 NFL season and could use a stable environment to prove that his success in Duval County was no fluke.
Westbrook would also have the chance to ease his way back into action following a torn ACL in 2020. If he can put together a big year, he could be back on track for a nice payday when the salary cap bounces back next offseason.
Westbrook had 66 catches for 717 yards and five touchdowns in 2018 and 66 catches for 660 yards and three scores in 2019. It is a bit curious what put him in the Jaguars’ dog house to be fourth on the team’s depth chart for the 2020 NFL season, but if there are no other concerns, looking into what it would cost to bring him in should be a no-brainer.
