Danielle Hunter – DE

It’s been pretty quiet recently when it comes to Danielle Hunter’s current status with the Vikings. There were rumors of Hunter’s displeasure with his contract earlier this offseason, but everything we’ve heard from Minnesota’s coaches and front office members seems to indicate that they expect the talented defensive end to be on the team’s 2021 roster.

However, we don’t truly know what is going on between Hunter and the Vikings right now, do we? It wasn’t too long ago when Minnesota did their best to make it clear that they weren’t trading Stefon Diggs before they ultimately ended up, well, trading him.

So when it comes to the Vikings with Rick Spielman as their general manager, we’ve learned to never really rule out anything.

If Minnesota doesn’t think they can work out a new long-term deal with Hunter before next season, it’s possible that they could use him in a trade package to move up in this year’s NFL Draft.

Hunter arguably has the most trade value of any Vikings player on the team’s current roster, so he could be part of a trade that results in the team improving their position in the first round of the upcoming draft.

But if Minnesota doesn’t receive a first-round selection in a trade proposal involving Hunter, then they need to say no thanks and head into the 2021 season with him on their roster.
