Possible Trade Offer

  • Vikings get:
    • Orlando Brown Jr.
    • Baltimore’s 2021 fifth-round pick (No. 171)
  • Ravens get:
    • Minnesota’s 2021 third-round pick (No. 78)
    • Minnesota’s 2021 fourth-round pick (No. 119)
    • Minnesota’s 2021 fifth-round pick (No. 157)
    • Minnesota’s 2022 first-round pick

During this year’s NFL Draft, the Vikings have to figure out a way to improve the level of talent on their offensive line.

Now, there are multiple ways Minnesota can go about this. They can use their draft selections to add a bunch of young blockers, or they could include some of their picks in a trade offer to acquire a veteran offensive lineman.

If the Vikings end up missing out on some of the top offensive tackle prospects they have their eyes on this year, attempting to trade for Ravens offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. could be something for them to look into.

One thing Minnesota has to take into account, however, is that he’s not going to be cheap to acquire. Baltimore is going to likely want multiple draft picks in return for Brown and at least one of the selections in the offer would probably have to be from the first round this year or in 2022.

The Vikings would also have to think about the lucrative extension Brown is likely going to want before the start of the 2022 season. Minnesota has to figure out if they want to invest a bunch of money in an offensive tackle who has only been in the league for three years.

If the Vikings are fine with all of this though, they would have themselves a replacement for Riley Reiff at left tackle for not only the 2021 season, but potentially for the next handful of years.
