Trey Lance – QB (North Dakota State)

There are a lot of quarterbacks who will be going early in the 2021 NFL Draft and Trey Lance is definitely one of them.

Lance has got a cannon of an arm, he can make plays with his legs, and he is dripping with talent. The dude is very raw, and he will likely benefit from a season or two as a backup, but he has all the talent and intangibles to be a very good quarterback in the league for a long time.

It would be tough for some Vikings fans to see Lance end up with the Bears or the Lions. This kid spent his college career in Minnesota’s neighboring state of North Dakota, and many would like to see the small schooler find success in the league just as his predecessor Carson Wentz has. If Lance ends up with a division rival, it will be awfully tough to root for him.

While he will be a love lost if he ends up with another team in the NFC North, the Vikings will also have to worry about his play. As stated above, he can take off and pick up first downs with his legs and also use his high-end athleticism to avoid pressure in the pocket.

If he develops into the type of player many think he can be, he’ll be a big-time headache for Minnesota for at least the next decade.
