Wyatt Davis – OG (Ohio State)

Wyatt Davis was once seen as an option for the Vikings with the 14th pick but concerns about his knees could send him tumbling down the board to the point where he could still be available early in the third round.

Davis is a big and powerful interior blocker, with surprising athletic ability. He is quick out of his stance and can get to the second level taking linebackers out of a play. Davis would provide some much-needed toughness to the Vikings’ interior and has a strong enough base to anchor and fend off those big meaty defensive tackles who will come crashing down on him.

Davis wasn’t completely healthy during the 2020 season, as he was plagued by some minor injuries that caused him to miss time. He then had that scary injury in the championship game and had to be helped off the field and was later seen on crutches. Davis has assured teams and Buckeye fans that his knee is 100 percent fine, but that is something teams will have to let their doctors decide.

If Davis’ knee checks out, he could go in the early portions of the second round. If he begins to fall he’d be an ideal choice for the Vikings, as he dominates in the run game and would be a huge asset opening up holes for Dalvin Cook.
