Fifth Round

  • Kenny Yeboah – TE (Ole Miss)
  • Sadarius Hutcherson – OG (South Carolina)
  • Cade Johnson – WR (South Dakota State)
  • Chauncey Golston – DE/OLB (Iowa)
  • Caden Sterns – S (Texas)

While the Vikings have plenty of mid-to-late round selections at their disposal, it will count for nothing if they cannot manifest these into productive NFL players. This is something they’ve had mixed success with over recent years, but providing their first few selections solve clear areas of need, then it will be a case of fine-tuning the roster with some potential diamonds in the rough.

Kyle Rudolph’s departure could mean Minnesota is in the market for another pass-catching presence to put with Irv Smith Jr. and Tyler Conklin. Kenny Yeboah has all the athletic attributes needed to forge a successful NFL career, with the tight end now boasting solid production in the SEC after transferring from Temple to Ole Miss in 2020.

Sadarius Hutcherson represents some quality value if he makes it to the fifth round and might end up being a prominent starter at the next level once he finds his feet. Cade Johnson’s breakaway speed makes him an enticing prospect at wide receiver if it’s not addressed beforehand, with Caden Sterns arriving at the next level with a substantial amount going for him after a superb college career at Texas.

If the Vikings are still looking for a pass-rusher at this stage, then they could do far worse than look in Chauncey Golston’s direction.
