Sixth Round
- Pooka Williams Jr. – RB (Kansas)
- Tre’ McKitty – TE (Georgia)
- Tristen Hoge – OG (BYU)
- Shi Smith – WR (South Carolina)
- Shaka Toney – DE/OLB (Penn State)
Hopefully, by this stage of the draft, Minnesota will be in a position to select the best player available regardless of need. Finding gems late on Day 3 separates the good teams from the championship ones. So the pressure will be on to a certain extent with plenty riding on the 2021 campaign for the Vikings.
The depth chart looks pretty good behind Dalvin Cook at running back, but if Pooka Williams is available, then he is more than worth a look. His production at Kansas was nothing short of outstanding and providing he can brush up his pass-catching ability, someone is going to have a real player on their hands.
Tre’ McKitty is a physically gifted tight end that could fill a starting role one day. The same applies to Penn State edge rusher Shaka Toney, who has all the explosiveness normally associated with productive players at the next level.
4 luxury prospects the Vikings could pick in the 2021 NFL Draft
Which prospects who might be deemed luxury selections could the Minnesota Vikings possibly draft in 2021 despite not having a need at certain positions?
Former South Carolina wide receiver Shi Smith is someone that could be a high-value pick judging by his production and his flawless ball skills that were on full display during team drills at the 2021 Senior Bowl. The Vikings might also look to acquire an interior lineman such as Tristen Hoge out of BYU to further boost their protection options.
