Amon-Ra St. Brown – WR (USC)

The Vikings need to find some competition for the No. 3 wide receiver spot on their depth chart and one pass-catcher who wasn’t selected in the first three rounds was USC’s Amon-Ra St. Brown.

St. Brown has good size at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. He runs smooth routes and he has an above-average burst which should allow him to create separation against corners in the NFL.

St. Brown had a very productive run with the Trojans, catching 178 balls in his three-year career for 2,270 yards and 16 touchdowns. He faced some very good defenders during his time in the PAC-12, and that should help him see action early in his pro career.

If St. Brown landed with the Vikings, he could come in and push Chad Beebe and Bisi Johnson to be the team’s third option in their passing attack.

There are some concerns about St. Brown having a limited catch radius despite his size. He also isn’t a burner and he doesn’t possess the overall athletic ability of some of the other receivers in this class.

These shouldn’t be big issues though as he’s an accomplished and experienced receiver who is capable of earning a role on Minnesota’s roster during his first year in the NFL.
