Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre recently shared his thoughts on all of the Aaron Rodgers drama currently happening with the Green Bay Packers.

Right below winning the Super Bowl and being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, defeating the Green Bay Packers in a Minnesota Vikings uniform has to rank pretty high on the list of achievements in the career of Brett Favre.

After basically being forced into retirement by the Packers, Favre got his chance for payback in 2009 during his first season with the Vikings. The Hall of Fame quarterback led Minnesota to wins in both of their matchups against Green Bay that year and no one likely enjoyed the victories more than the ol’ gunslinger.

Currently, Aaron Rodgers is in the middle of his own battle with the Packers higher-ups, and it’s a situation that continues to get worse as each day passes by.

Former Minnesota Vikings quarterback gives his take on Aaron Rodgers

As one might’ve noticed during the last few years, Favre hasn’t been someone who shies away from giving his opinion on a hot topic. So it wasn’t surprising to find out that he has some thoughts about what Rodgers is currently going through in Green Bay.

Favre hopped on ESPN Wisconsin on Wednesday and gave his prediction for how things might turn out for the Packers and their current quarterback.

"“I think I know Aaron fairly well, and honestly, I just don’t see him coming back and just saying, ‘All right, let’s just bury the hatchet, whatever caused the rift, and I’m just going to come back and play because I love the guys, I love the Green Bay fans.’ I assume he does [love the fans], but his rift isn’t with the fans or the players. It’s with the front office. Will he just swallow his pride and come in? Maybe, but I don’t see that happening. If there’s not a trade, my gut tells me that he’d rather sit out than play. That’s just my gut.”"

For fans of the Vikings, it’s difficult to not smile after learning of these comments from Favre. He thinks Rodgers is likely done in Green Bay and if they don’t trade him, then he just won’t play? Well, the outcome of this situation certainly feels more and more like it’s going to turn out great for Minnesota.

The Vikings have actually done fairly well against Rodgers and the Packers during the last few seasons (4-4-1 record vs. Rodgers since 2016). But this doesn’t mean Minnesota wouldn’t be excited to see the reigning NFL MVP not suit up for the Packers anymore.

Rodgers not being in the NFC North would likely make life for the Vikings so much easier. At the very least, winning the division would be much less difficult for Minnesota during the upcoming 2021 season.

This massive story that came about on the first day of the NFL Draft last week doesn’t appear as though it’s going away anytime soon. It also doesn’t seem like it’s going to end well for Green Bay either. So please, try to contain your tears of happiness.
