Cornerbacks (7)
- Mackensie Alexander
- Kris Boyd
- Cameron Dantzler
- Jeff Gladney
- Harrison Hand
- Mike Hughes
- Patrick Peterson
Injuries absolutely decimated the cornerbacks last season, forcing the Minnesota Vikings to sign defensive backs off the street to play defense. That shouldn’t be the case this year, where there is quite a bit of depth and competition available.
The headline of this group is Patrick Peterson. The prize free agent is an eight-time Pro Bowl player and three-time All-Pro who will serve as the veteran leader of the unit while surrounded by a ton of youth.
Cameron Dantzler, Mike Hughes, and Mackensie Alexander should all see the field at some point this year, especially in obvious passing situations. Kris Boyd and Harrison Hand should be able to carve themselves out a niche role as a backup as well as work on special teams.
As of this writing, the Minnesota Vikings have yet to part ways with Jeff Gladney and assault charges are still reportedly looming against him. If those charges are dropped, he will likely be back with the team. Otherwise, he will probably be dealing with the legal system.
