Justin Fields – QB (Chicago Bears)
During this year’s NFL Draft, former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields was still on the board after the first 10 selections were made. With the Vikings having the No. 14 pick in the first round, some fans wanted them to trade up for Fields.
Minnesota reportedly had interest in drafting Fields this year, but they weren’t willing to mortgage their future to trade up and get him. Instead, the Chicago Bears worked out a deal with the New York Giants to move up from pick No. 20 to pick No. 11 and select the former Ohio State passer.
The Bears are not currently in a rush to make Fields their starter this year. But he could be starting under center by the time the Vikings take on Chicago for the first time next season in Week 15.
Both teams could potentially be in the hunt for the NFC North crown heading into their first meeting and Fields could end up standing in the way of Minnesota capturing their first division title since 2017.
