Although attention is quickly turning to OTAs and training camp ahead of the 2021 season, those in power within the Minnesota Vikings will already have half an eye on which players they might add to the team’s roster in 2022.
Just how much money the organization will have to spend in 2022 is still undetermined despite the expectations being that the salary cap will soar thanks to contract restructures kicking the financial can down the road to comply with this year’s restrictions.
The Vikings normally do a tremendous job of making the right sacrifices here and there to progress the team. This came with a frenzied period of activity in free agency and the NFL Draft this year, something that has left the roster with a more energetic feel to it than the one that finished the 2020 campaign.
According to Over The Cap, Minnesota currently has a little over $9 million available to spend in 2022. This will surely go up depending on which contracts they get rid of ahead of time and the franchise could become an attractive destination for upcoming free agents if the team returns to the form of old next season.
