2021 Team: San Francisco 49ers

The Vikings will be hoping for better production from their interior offensive line in 2021. There should be a more youthful look about it with Ezra Cleveland and potentially Wyatt Davis forming the starting duo.

But if things don’t pan out as expected, then it’s going to be a case of heading back to the drawing board to solidify an important area of the field.

Minnesota has neglected the guard position for too long and it’s cost them at critical moments over the years. Another failed experiment with two young players with high upside could result in them finally shelling out big bucks for a free agent that could provide prolific production from the word go.

If this is a route they eventually go down, then Laken Tomlinson fits the bill. The former first-round pick has been a consistent presence for the San Francisco 49ers and he earned an impressive 78.8 grade from Pro Football Focus for his efforts in 2020.

This would be a significant upgrade over anything Minnesota currently has and if Tomlinson is allowed to test the free agent market, there should be a ton of interested teams.
