Which notable members of the Minnesota Vikings might fail to meet their expectations for the 2021 season?

Prior to the 2020 season, the Minnesota Vikings went through a bunch of significant roster changes. Several of Vikings’ core players from the Mike Zimmer era parted ways with the franchise and a new breed of contributors were brought in.

Unfortunately for Minnesota, the team was definitely impacted by all of the departures, and it resulted in the team missing out on the 2020 playoffs.

This year, the Vikings saw a few more notable guys like Kyle Rudolph and Riley Reiff say their goodbyes. But the talent level of the players who left the team this offseason is much lower than it was in 2020.

For the 2021 season, Minnesota will not only have a good amount of playmakers returning, but they also added a bunch of new talent that gives the team a better chance at getting back to the playoffs.

Despite the majority of the Vikings’ top 2020 contributors coming back for 2021, there are a few players the team should be prepared to see take a step back during the upcoming season. Some could see their production take a drop due to last year’s workload while others might see a decline in performance due to their career in the league inching closer to the end.

So who are some of the players on Minnesota’s current roster that could potentially take a step back when the team returns to the field for the 2021 season?
