Many NFL players enter seasons with particular goals in mind. Some aim for the Pro Bowl or an All-Pro nod, but Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has something a little different in mind for his 2021 goal.

During a presser shared on the official Vikings website, the star halfback talked about feeling refreshed entering the year and being ready for anything that will be asked of him. Expectations should be high for the rusher to have another great season, but individual accomplishments aren’t the biggest thing on Cook’s mind.

"“I want to make the playoffs. That’s my goal,” Cook said."

Dalvin Cook explained that he doesn’t set goals based on yardage and has just been focused on being the best player he could be on the football field. He wants to reach his goal of returning to the playoffs after missing the postseason in 2020 by being a leader for the team on and off the field.

"“Helping guys get better. Helping guys get comfortable. I think that’s going to be the best way this team goes where we want it to go,” Cook said."

Minnesota faces one of the toughest schedules in the league this season and will need all the help they can get if they want to make the postseason. There are many great teams in the NFC that will be fighting all 17 weeks of their schedule for an opportunity to represent their conference as one of the seven teams to make the playoffs and taking care of your own business while helping others seems like a great way to prepare for the upcoming season.

Dalvin Cook and the Minnesota Vikings will kick off the 2021 NFL season on Sept. 12 against the Bengals. Hopefully, the purple and gold will have their ducks in a row for Week 1 and get a big win in Ohio.
