Which Minnesota Vikings players could emerge as potential alphas in 2021?

To say the 2021 season is an important one for the Minnesota Vikings would be understating things slightly. There is growing pressure on head coach Mike Zimmer to get his team back on the right track after missing the postseason last year, which only raises the stakes surrounding his long-term future with the organization.

Nobody can accuse the Vikings of sitting on their hands this offseason. There were extremely active both during free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft and although some established figures within the locker room moved on in one way or another, their options look far stronger now than when the previous campaign came to a conclusion.

Of course, we won’t know for sure until Minnesota gets out on the field for their Week 1 opener at the Cincinnati Bengals.

But the early signs are promising.

At least from the outside looking in, there appears to be far more energy and athleticism on the Vikings. Those veteran players who remain will still be counted on heavily to produce the goods, but others might also make their presence felt with more responsibility on their shoulders.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at four Vikings players who could emerge as potential alphas in 2021.
