Dalvin Cook – RB

Dalvin Cook is the obvious answer when asked who will be the Vikings’ most explosive player on offense in 2021. The guy is the M-80 of this offense with his ability to bust off a long gainer every single time he touches the ball.

It’s hard to not sound like a broken record when talking about Cook but he is truly a rare talent. He’s so fast and elusive, but also runs with great power and vision. He’s extremely patient when getting the ball, then lets his blocks develop before finding the hole and exploding through it.

Cook has single-handedly been the entire Minnesota offense in games and he has also been the spark on numerous occasions that wakes the Vikings’ offense out of a funk. Opposing teams simply can’t stop him, they can only hope to slow him down.

What makes Cook truly special is that he isn’t just a weapon in the running game. He’s caught 137 passes over the last three seasons, and just like when running the football, he can take any one of those to the house at any given time.

With Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson, and Irv Smith Jr. all a part of Minnesota’s offense, opposing teams can’t afford to stack the box to try to stuff Cook. The only thing that can slow him down would be another injury, but barring that, he’ll not just be one of the Vikings’ most explosive players, but he will be one of the NFL’s.
