Justin Jefferson – WR

Justin Jefferson is easily one of the most explosive players on the 2021 Vikings. His rookie season proves that and there’s no reason to think he won’t be just as, if not more, productive in year two.

Jefferson is just the total package. His route running is precise and he’s so quick in and out of his breaks that cornerbacks don’t have a chance to cover him. He also has impressive speed, being able to turn on the jets to outrun defenders. Jefferson also is a competitor who fights and scraps for every single yard, rarely going down on first contact.

Justin Jefferson was robbed of the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award a season ago and his explosive numbers show why. He caught 88 balls for 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 15.9 yards a reception with a long of 71. That is definitely a firecracker type of explosion worthy of that recognition.

Some may point out that Jefferson could suffer a down season in 2021, as opposing teams will be game-planning to shut him down and he may see more double teams than ever before.

However, that didn’t slow him down one bit when he faced the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions for the second time last year, as they were surely gaming for him. In both matchups, he actually performed just as good if not better than the first meeting, which speaks to his competitiveness and ability to use his quickness to create separation.

Jefferson will, without a doubt, be one of the most explosive players on the Vikings offense in 2021, and he could even be the biggest playmaker of them all.
