Availability: Free agent in 2022

Things could change, but at this moment, it seems like the earliest we could see Adam Thielen depart from the Vikings could be in 2023.

Still, if Minnesota winds up moving Thielen elsewhere before this year’s trade deadline or they just want to prepare for his eventual exit, the team could turn to free agency in 2022 to find a new partner in crime for Justin Jefferson.

DJ Chark is someone who Jefferson is very familiar with since both were teammates in college at LSU in 2017. Chark also has an ally on the Vikings coaching staff in new wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell, who was the pass-catcher’s position coach from 2018 to 2020.

Chark had a bit of a down year in 2020 with 53 catches for 706 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games, but the 24-year-old receiver still has a ton of potential to blossom into a top NFL weapon.
