Nicholas Morrow – LB (Las Vegas Raiders)
Availability: Free agent in 2022
Earlier this offseason, the Vikings were able to convince Anthony Barr to agree to a re-negotiated contract in order to free up some much-needed cap space. With the new agreement, Barr will now become a free agent in 2022.
So the possibility of the veteran linebacker not being on Minnesota’s roster after the upcoming season is very real.
If Barr leaves, the Vikings could look to the NFL Draft to find his replacement, or they could turn to free agency to bring in someone like Nicholas Morrow, who already has the experience of working in a similar defensive system to what Minnesota currently utilizes.
In 2020, Morrow finished with 78 tackles (eight for a loss), nine pass breakups, three sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble. Despite the fact that he’s still only 25-years-old, he’s already spent four seasons in the NFL.
The Vikings adding Morrow to their defense would also allow them to draft and develop a linebacker prospect to be a starter in 2023 or 2024.
