Cameron Dantzler – CB

This one may come as a surprise after the Vikings brought in Patrick Peterson, Mackensie Alexander, and Bashaud Breeland this offseason, but the second-year man will be the most explosive playmaking corner in Minnesota’s secondary this year.

Cameron Dantzler had a trial by fire rookie season, but the kid held his own. He did bounce in and out of the lineup as he battled injuries, but things really came together for him the final few weeks of the season. Dantzler had two interceptions in his final four games and he ranked as one of the better cover corners in the league over that stretch.

This year Dantzler gets a full offseason in the Vikings defensive scheme. That’ll be a huge boost to his development, as will playing with veterans like Peterson and Breeland. They can help answer any questions he has, ensure he’s always in the right spot, and even give him a heads up when offenses show certain looks.

Dantzler is a guy who just has “it”. He was easily Minnesota’s Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, and if things come together for him, he could push to be the team’s best and biggest playmaking corner during the upcoming season.
