Which young Minnesota Vikings players should be monitored closely during training camp this summer?

This is always an exciting time of year for NFL fans across the country. Training camp is now just a few short weeks away. The Vikings are in their final stages of preparation before hitting the practice field to lay the foundations for what will hopefully become a successful 2021 season.

For head coach Mike Zimmer, it needs to be. Things didn’t go according to plan for the Vikings last time out, and despite a resurgence after their early bye week, the damage had already been done.

Some significant additions were made to the roster this offseason in pursuit of avoiding further complications. With the likes of Eric Kendricks, Danielle Hunter, and Michael Pierce also returning to the fold, a bold bid to reach the postseason is a realistic goal Minnesota should be aiming for.

And who knows, if the Aaron Rodgers situation with the Green Bay Packers continues to turn sour, then a divisional title is well within the Vikings’ reach.

Much will also depend on younger members of the roster and how they develop in the coming weeks. A more structured offseason program should help, as will the acquisitions of proven veterans who’ve done it all, such as Patrick Peterson.

With this in mind, let’s take a look at five Vikings players we all need to watch closely when they take the field for training camp in 2021.
