Rashod Hill – OT

Rashod Hill might be comfortable just being a backup offensive lineman rather than a dependable starter. This is a task that’s proven too much for the player during his time in Minnesota, and although he was brought back on a team-friendly deal, his chances of meaningful reps look bleak.

The Vikings roster added a prospect of note when the organization drafted Christian Darrisaw in the first round. This is an instant replacement for Riley Reiff and has the potential to solidify the blindside for years to come.

This isn’t going to help Hill’s chances. The former Southern Mississippi star saw just 121 snaps in 2020, and although this came with an encouraging 72.4 grade from Pro Football Focus, he might be forced to settle for something similar next time around.

Convincing the coaching staff he’s worthy of more involvement at training camp is crucial. Hill also needs to catch the eye during preseason reps to further bolster his hopes.

The task awaiting Hill is a steep one, of that there is little doubt.

There is nothing to suggest his place on the 53-man roster is under threat, but at 29-years-old the lineman could harbor loftier ambitions than just being part of the team.
