Bisi Johnson – WR
The case surrounding Bisi Johnson is a curious one. His production in 2019 left plenty of reasons to be encouraged for the future, only for the wide receiver to become virtually non-existent in the team’s plans on offense last time out.
Just what sort of role Johnson can carve out for himself in 2021 is now highly questionable. He was a big surprise nobody saw coming as a seventh-round pick, but it’s clear the Colorado State product found like much more difficult once teams became more clued-up.
Year 3 for Johnson is a big one.
The Vikings drafted a couple of talented receivers and secured Whop Philyor as an undrafted free agent. They will all be competing with the likes of Johnson and Chad Beebe for third on the depth chart behind stud duo Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.
In truth, it could go either way for Johnson at this juncture. Some significant strides need to be made in the coming weeks and he must make the most out of targets coming his way in the preseason.
If Johnson can do this, then all hope is not lost. However, it’s hard to look at his current situation with any real confidence based on his production in 2020.
