Locker room chemistry

It was evident that Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen were very close. They were a great duo on and off the field. However, Diggs was not the best presence in the locker room or on the sideline. Often letting the moment get to him when the Vikings were faced with adversity during games and throwing tantrums on the sideline — complaining about touches and not getting the ball enough.

The team fined Diggs in October 2019 for missing practice after the receiver claimed he had a cold. When asked about the rumors of him wanting a trade out of Minnesota, Diggs replied, “there’s truth to all rumors.”

Diggs was not happy in Minnesota and therefore as a teammate, was not making others around him happier or better.

Not only has Justin Jefferson stepped in and replaced Diggs on the field, but he has also been a positive presence in the locker room. His signature “Griddy” dance has his teammates, like Adam Thielen and Kirk Cousins, impersonating him to the delight of the team as well as the rest of the league.
