The Minnesota Vikings may not have great depth at wide receiver heading into the 2021 NFL season but they have some options for players to be the WR3.

Depth can be hard for an NFL team to have at all their positions. With the salary cap and luck of the draft both being essential pieces in building a deep roster, sometimes things don’t work out and franchises like the Minnesota Vikings are forced to roll the dice on some players who aren’t as established to take on big roles.

This season, the purple and gold are expected to enter the season with Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson as their starting wide receivers, but the situation past them on the depth chart offers a lot of question marks when it comes to which other pass catchers could step up if needed.

Since there isn’t a lot of experience among the top contenders to take on this role and the job could be up for grabs if one of the training camp individuals makes a great impression, it will be fun to watch the receivers battle it out.

Let’s take a look at the four candidates who are most likely to win the job to become the WR3 for the Minnesota Vikings and hopefully be able to step in when needed to move the chains or make some big plays this season.
