Ihmir Smith-Marsette

Wouldn’t it be great if the Minnesota Vikings got a big hit when they drafted Ihmir Smith-Marsette with a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft? That would definitely be the best-case scenario for this list.

Smith-Marsette didn’t blow away anyone with his stat lines while at Iowa. In fact, 43 games only saw him catch 110 passes for 1,615 and 14 touchdowns. He never had more than five receiving touchdowns in a season and flew under the radar a bit during the draft process.

There is still a lot to like about the 6’1, 181-pound pass catcher. He is a dynamic player who can showcase some great speed and acceleration. This is evidenced by his average of 14.7 yards per catch in college and 28.7 yards per kick return at Iowa.

If he can clean up some of the dropped passes that he experienced in college, Ihmir Smith-Marsette could be a great third option for the Vikings who can take the top off defenses and open things up underneath for his teammates.
