4 candidates to be the Vikings third wide receiver in 2021

The wild card!
There is no doubt that the Minnesota Vikings will be watching free agency closely. If a player looks like a great fit for the team and the compensation to be given up to acquire him is reasonable, the purple and gold might decide to bring in another body to take over WR3 duties.
Some of the players out there right now are pretty big names that are familiar to fans. Larry Fitzgerald, Golden Tate, Josh Gordon, and Dede Westbrook are among some of the most popular individuals on the wish list of fans. More names are likely to join the list as cuts are made to trim rosters.
But looking outside the team isn’t the only way a wild card can get the WR3 role. Blake Proehl, Whop Philyor, K.J. Osborn, Myron Mitchell, and Dan Chisena are all looking for their opportunity to impress the coaching staff and move up the depth chart.
Right now it is anyone’s game, but it would be surprising to see the team spend too much in salary cap or draft capital to bring in another pass-catcher unless something happens and they are no longer comfortable with their balance of experience and young players.
Plus, seeing one of those other players currently on the roster open eyes in preseason and training camp would be great, but a bit optimistic.
