5 surprising decisions the Vikings could make before the 2021 season

Keep multiple undrafted rookies
For a team that is extremely deep at many positions and has Super Bowl aspirations, seeing them keep some undrafted players would be a shocking move.
The Vikings do have some precedence for this, as they kept Dan Chisena last season and tight end Brandon Dillon the season before. They could make it three years in a row, as there are some talented players who didn’t hear their name called on draft day that’ll be fighting for a roster spot.
The most likely position an undrafted player could earn a spot with Minnesota would be at wide receiver. Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson are untouchable, and Chad Beebe, Bisi Johnson, and Ihmir Smith-Marsette are likely safe as well.
If the team decides to keep six wide receivers, that player could be an undrafted rookie. Whop Philyor, Blake Proehl, and Myron Mitchell are all talented pass catchers who could also have an impact on special teams.
If one of those three emerges, it wouldn’t take much to surpass K.J. Osborn or Chisena on the depth chart, earning that sixth and final spot on the roster.
The Vikings also have a battle brewing at kicker and undrafted Riley Patterson will get every chance to beat veteran Greg Joseph. If he proves to be the more reliable option, the Vikings could have two undrafted rookies suiting up for them in 2021.
