Turner Bernard

The differences between Turner Bernard and Andrew DePaola are night and day. Bernard is a 22-year-old undrafted free agent out of San Diego State looking to get his first taste in the NFL by signing with the Vikings.

Even though he played 51 games at the college level where he was 1st-Team All-MWC from Phil Steele Magazine and has a father who coached football at high school, helping him develop his game at a young age.

Although he is mostly an unknown at this point, developing a quick connection with a punter Britton Colquitt or one of the team’s kickers could launch him up the depth chart as long as they can work together on a consistent basis.

Bernard will need to play well to unseat DePaola but has the opportunity to do so thanks to a return to a somewhat typical training camp as well as some preseason action. Of course, he could also stick with the team on the practice squad if the team likes what they see.
