Someone else

There aren’t a lot of noteworthy long snappers sitting in free agency. Whenever a team gets a talented player at this position on their roster they typically stick with them until their level of play falls off or they begin eating up more of the salary cap than a team thinks they should.

Still, there is a chance that the Vikings will want to keep an eye on cuts from other teams and hope an experienced long snapper can drop into their laps. While that is unlikely, it is not outside the realm of possibility.

As a fan of the former NBC workplace sitcom The Office, it’s hard not to wish that the Minnesota Vikings could combine Andrew DePaola and Turner Bernard to create the “Nard Dog” Andrew Bernard, but that technology may not exist yet.

Seriously though, fans of the purple and gold should be hoping that their long snapper for at least the next few seasons is on this roster and can step forward. Putting an end to the musical chairs on special teams would be a great way to prepare the unit for the future.

Who do you think will be the long snapper for the Minnesota Vikings during the 2021 NFL season? And will they be able to perform their duties well? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section!
