Minnesota will keep six receivers

The Vikings entered the offseason with limited options behind Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson but hearing the team talk before camp, you would think they have an embarrassment of riches.

Dede Westbrook signed with Minnesota over the weekend, creating what should be one of the toughest battles in training camp. While Zimmer said that Westbrook “caught everything” during a workout, there’s still enough to like in order to have six receivers on the roster.

K.J. Osborne was one of the first names mentioned by Zimmer and Rick Spielman on Tuesday, and Chad Beebe seems to have inherited the “Marcus Sherels” immunity role as a player that keeps avoiding his own demise. Bisi Johnson could wind up being cut, but the Vikings could see enough value to keep him around, especially when they could keep Osborne as a special teamer.

This isn’t a group that will turn the Vikings into the Kansas City Chiefs, but it’s enough depth to make things interesting. For a team that has struggled in this department, they could decide to keep everyone and have their deepest receiver room in years.
