Easy, Breezy, beautiful

There has been a ton of news about a lot of positions so far during training camp but not a lot has been said about the cornerbacks. Today, there was quite a bit going on with the secondary that needs to be discussed.

Bashaud Breeland made some nice plays today including a nice interception of Kirk Cousins and tight coverage throughout the day. He also picked off quarterback Jake Browning during Day 1 of training camp.

At the moment, the starting cornerback job opposite Patrick Peterson should be a competition between Bashaud Breeland and Cameron Dantzler. This battle should be a tight one unless one individual can separate themselves from the other.

The fact there is a competition at all is awesome. Last year, the Minnesota Vikings had very little depth and experience at cornerback and struggled to defend against the pass. This year, that doesn’t seem like it should be a major issue.
