One of the worst sayings in modern history is “it is what it is.” Not only does that statement absolve any responsibility for something but it is the kind of passive-aggressive statement that people use when they are frustrated but don’t want to (or can’t) express themselves properly.

Head coach Mike Zimmer used those words during his presser and it was clear that he was definitely not indifferent about the situation involving his quarterbacks’ room needing to be quarantined due to COVID-19 protocol.

Kirk Cousins may not need a lot of reps during training camp, but guys like Kellen Mond and Nate Stanley could benefit from time with coaches and their teammates as they hope to earn a spot on the squad this season.

It’s admirable for Zimmer to be vocal about his displeasure of not being able to have his team together for camp, but allowing that to spill out into the media as well as the public might not be the best thing considering how dividing that topic is at the moment and how there are rumors that some players would give up their spot before they ever got vaccinated.
