Banged up rookies and an odd pecking order

Christian Darrisaw is still not practicing for the Minnesota Vikings are the hope is that he can return soon so he can prepare for action. For now. the team is having a combination of Oli Udoh and Rahod Hill take his place for walkthroughs and drills.

On the other hand, Wyatt Davis appears to be dealing with an ankle ailment according to Courtney Cronin, and was seen working with a trainer on the rehab field. Again, the hope is that he will not be out too long because Minnesota will rely on him as a backup/rotational player on the interior of the line this year.

Meanwhile, the right guard spot is still a bit of a mystery with Davis seemingly out of the competition. Udoh still seems to be the favorite to start this year but Dakota Dozier has been filling in when Udoh moved to left tackle for 11-on-11 drills.

This is interesting considering the team traded for versatile lineman Mason Cole earlier this year and his lack of inclusion or mention have been a bit of a confusing development during training camp. Could he be in the doghouse or maybe just not performing up to standards since arriving? It is hard to know.
